This model grew up in a repressive religious environment. While she knew that what she was taught about femininity and womanhood was wrong, finding answers that fit her better has been a long process. The peace and autonomy she enjoys now is hard-won. These photos are about reconciling the positive elements of her faith with the freedom she enjoys in her new life. Her body, mind, and beliefs are now her own.
